What is Unplag.bg?
A Bulgarian academic-integrity platform for schools and universities. It checks student work for similarity with web and Bulgarian academic sources, shows Cyrillic-aware AI-text indicators and supports criteria-based assessment and feedback. It is operated by Unplag OOD (UIC 208818713).
Which files can be checked?
PDF, DOCX and TXT files up to 50 MB. Personal data such as national ID numbers, phone numbers and email addresses is masked automatically before analysis.
Which sources is the text compared with?
Web sources, Bulgarian academic sources, the institution’s permitted corpus according to its access, and the available indexed publications and books. Coverage is not universal. The report shows results only from checks that actually ran; a missing check is marked as not performed, not as a clean result.
Does the AI indicator prove that a text was written with AI?
No. The AI-text indicator points to passages for further review. It can be wrong, it does not establish who the author is and it does not prove misconduct. The final decision stays with the educator.
Who makes the decision?
A person. The platform organises the evidence; the educator confirms the assessment and gives specific feedback. In an institution, administrators review documents from a central panel with role-based access, and results can be disputed.
Where is the data stored?
The primary database and file storage are in the EU, with role-based access. External providers and any international transfers are described in the privacy information.
How much does it cost for a school or university?
The price depends on the size of the institution and the features it will use, so there is no generic table. Payment is annual by invoice, with no monthly fees and no automatic renewal.
Can I check a paper without an institutional contract?
Yes. Students and educators with a personal profile buy a credit package, paid once through Stripe; the credits are added immediately. Packages are valid for 12 months.
Does it work with Moodle and other learning platforms?
Yes, through the LTI 1.3 standard. Each integration goes through test acceptance before it is enabled for all users.
