How Unplag.bg handles personal data

The controller for the public website and directly provided services is the Unplag.bg operating entity identified in the Bulgarian privacy notice. Privacy enquiries can be sent to office@unplag.info.

For an institutional account, your school or university will often be the controller for student and staff data, while Unplag.bg acts under the institution’s instructions.

Account and contact details, institutional membership and role, billing records, support correspondence, security logs, submitted documents, analysis results and review activity may be processed where needed to provide the service.

Do not upload unnecessary personal data. Institutions should configure and use the available masking and retention controls in line with their own legal basis and policy.

Data is processed to deliver and secure the service, manage contracts and billing, respond to enquiries, meet legal obligations, prevent abuse and support legitimate operational interests. Consent is used where the law requires it and can be withdrawn prospectively.

Automated systems can surface similarity, AI-writing and manipulation indicators. These are not intended to make a final disciplinary decision. Institutions remain responsible for qualified human review and fair procedure.

Specialised infrastructure and analysis providers may process limited data to deliver hosting, authentication, storage, communications, payments and document analysis. Current provider categories and safeguards are listed in the Bulgarian privacy documentation and institutional subprocessor register.

Retention depends on the service, contract and institutional settings. Access controls, private storage, audit records, encryption in transit and operational monitoring are used to reduce risk. No online service can promise absolute security.

Depending on the GDPR conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and may complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection or another competent authority.
